The movement inscribed Thos. Pearce & Son, Paris, 2115, striking on a single bell, with white enamel dial (cracked), inscribed Thos. Pearce & Son, 25 Ludgate Hill, in drum-shaped case surmounted by a foliage and leaf-cast pediment flanked to one side by a child in native dress holding an arrow in one hand and gazing at a tortoise below, on naturalistic base, with leaf-cast supports, with giltwood and gesso plinth
the clock 7½in. (19cm) high, 14in. (36cm) wide
