A GEORGE I WALNUT MONTH-GOING LONGCASE CLOCK
The movement with five ring-turned pillars and outside countwheel striking on a bell, the brass dial with silvered chapter-ring inscribed John Wise, London, subsidiary seconds dial (with later hand) and date aperture enclosed by a matted centre, pierced spandrels to the angles cast with putti holding aloft a crown resting on acanthus scrolls, enclosed by a glazed door flanked by turned pilasters with brass captials, moulded cornice above, the trunk fitted with a herringbone crossbanded door with moulded border, on herringbone crossbanded box base and later moulded plinth, restorations and sections re-veneered
