The above football is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records as the World's Largest Football, measuring 2.36m (7¾ft.) in diameter and weighing 36.28 kilograms (80lb). It was manufactured by Mitre Sports of Huddersfield, West Yorks and has eight thousand six hundred and forty stitches, requiring 129.54 metres (425ft) of thread. It has been in the Guinness Book of Records since 1989 and it cannot be beaten as the World's Largest Football, as the rule-books state that a football must fit the goal-mouth. When it was checked for the Guinness Book of Records at Leeds United Football Ground this ball had to be pushed through the goal-mouth to enter the net.

Unfortunately, due to the size of this football it will not be on view during the time of the sale. However, any enquiries regarding it should be made to the specialist department
