with signature 'Hermann Swaneweld' on the mount
black lead, pen and grey ink, green and brown wash, watermarks bunch of grapes and horn in a crowned shield (cf. Heawood 2267, dated 1664).

Lot Essay

Although hardly any drawings seem to be securely attributed to the artist, this is very close in subject and style to the many wooded landscapes Keirincx painted.
