Lot Essay

The house De Wiersch, designed by Ghijsbert Thönsz. van Vianen and Peter Jansz. van Cooten, was built in 1654 as a country seat for Willem Ploos van Amstel, and remained in his famliy until 1721, when it was sold to the Van Westreenen family. After being inhabited by various other owners it was torn down in 1947.
