The arched case mounted with winged maidens, centred by a lion's head fountain, containing the circular white enamelled Roman dial with moon hands, the twin-going barrel movement with silk-suspended pendulum and outside countwheel strike on a bell, surmounted by a lyre and flanked by a young man playing the flute with his dog at his feet, on a rectangular plinth with anthemion mounts, centred by a maiden's mask in between a laurel wreath
