Lot Essay
Hippolyte Franois Moreau (1832-1927), brother of Auguste, started exhibiting his work at the Salon in Paris in 1859. He became known for his charming figures of children and young women, often depicted in allegorical style. (Pierre Kjellberg, Les Bronzes du XIXe Siècle, Paris, 1989, pp. 508-510)
