The sixty-two plate russet iron sujibachi kabuto [helmet with standing flanges], seven stage copper gilt tehen kanamono [mount for hole in the top of the helmet], three lame black lacquered itamono ichimanju-jikoro [solid plate neckguard] laced with modern lacing, brocade covered fukigaeshi [ear pieces] with a gilt copper mon [badge], small gilded copper maedate [forecrest] associated, mask of russet lacquered iron in the Nara style with stiff hair moustache and chin tuft, yodarekake [throat defence] of black lacquered iron kiritsuke kozane [imitation lamellae] laced in mid-blue close lacing, the large nimai hotoke-do [two piece cuirass with smooth surface] of russet iron overlaid with iron dragons and clouds and cloud borders, the overlay decorated with silver nunome, a Buddhist manji character, a symbol of eternal happiness, is at the top of the front plate, mounted with shakudo nawa-fukurin [roped edging], saihai tenugui and agemaki no kan [rings for attachments], detachable kusazuri of leather kiritsuke kozane [imitation lamellae], lacquered red brown and laced in mid-blue close lacing, each lower plate covered with lacquered leather and pierced with a shakudo-edged inome [boar's eye], kote [sleeves] of russet iron decorated to match the do with gilded leather behind the piercings, o-sode [large shoulder guards] of leather, each plate covered with lacquered leather and laced with mid-blue spaced lacing, cap plate covered with gilded leather and mounted with shakudo, haidate [thigh guards] of nine rectangular leather plates, hinged vertically, lacquered red and gold and edged with silver splashed iron overlay, heavy Shino suneate [shin guards] in russet iron overlaid with a design of tendrils splashed with silver, the mon [family badge] of two fan papers overlapping appears in a number of places on the armour, the helmet and mask associated, the rest of the armour matches
