Lot Essay

The makers have kindly confirmed that the rifle was built for the world famous rifle and revolver shot Walter Winans in 1913. It was subsequently used by him to win the Running Deer competition at Bisley and came into the present owner's possession via Sir Philip Brocklehurst who had acquired it directly from the Winans estate
