Lot Essay

Although attributed to Houdon and Broche in the late 18th and early 19th century, a bronze model of this group was exhibited by Pierre-Philippe Thomire (1751-1843) at the Salon de la Correspondance in 1781, descibed as deux amours se disputant un coeur.
