Marcella Smith at the Beach, the Languedoc, South of France

Marcella Smith was a close friend of the artist and often accompanied her to the South of France on holidays. She was a watercolourist who spent the winter months in a studio next door to Dorothea Sharp's house in Little Venice. They often spent the summer together working at St. Ives in Cornwall.
