Title-page with type-ornament border and engraved armorial, engraved author portrait after Pedro de Villafranca dated 1649, 30 engraved plates, ornamental initials, tailpieces and type-ornament headpieces. (Small stain at upper margin, small ink spots on a few plates, 7 plates just shaved.) 18th-century speckled half sheep boards, flat spine gilt in compartments (lightly rubbed). Provenance: Lessing J. Rosenwald, gift to; Washington, D.C., Library of Congress (book label, duplicate stamp, sale Sotheby's 27 November 1967).
