Lot Essay

In 1874 Berthe Morisot married Eugène Manet the brother of Edouard. In 1879 their daughter Julie was born and was to model frequently for her mother.

To be included in the forthcoming Morisot catalogue raisonné de l'oeuvre sur papier currently being prepared by Alain Clairet, Delphine Montalant and Yves Rouart, under 1890.
