etching, 1630Mannocci's very rare state 1(a) (of five), before the scratch in the sky between the tree in the foreground and the tree in the middle distance, an atmospheric, silvery impression, the immediate foreground to the right inked with greater delicacy than the example in the Bibliothèque Nationale, watermark Bird in a Circle (with Countermark Letters A and N?), (cf. M. wmk. 6), the lower sheet edge slightly unevenly trimmed, trimmed to the platemark at the left corner, with narrow to thread margins almost all round, remains of tape at the upper sheet corners and right sheet edge, otherwise in very good condition
