Lot Essay

Although Friedländer records this as an autograph work, Grosshans regards it, on the basis of a photograph, as a copy of the original that was formerly in the collection of André-Javier Flores in Madrid, and of unknown whereabouts since it was auctioned in Geneva in 1976.
