Lot Essay

From the series 'The Peoples of Russia' modelled by Pavel Pavlovich Kamenskii (1858-1922), who worked at the Imperial Porcelain Factory from 1907 to 1917, these figures had, besides the factory mark, the name of the figures impressed in the clay. For eleven figures from the series see Galina Agarkova and Nataliya Petrova, 250 Years of Lomonosov Porcelain Manufacture St. Petersburg 1744-1994, (St. Petersburg, 1994), pp. 96-99 illustrated.
