A silver-gilt cloisonné enamel Tea-set
marked with the Cyrillic initials of Ivan Saltykov, Moscow, 1895
Comprising a covered tea-pot and two-handled sugar-bowl, a milk-jug, sugar-sifter and tongs, a fork and shovel, the first three baluster-shaped, all decorated with stylized shaded floral and foliate scrolls within pellet borders on stippled gilt ground, the handles on dark blue ground, the detatchable domed covers with mother-of-pearl mounted finials, fully marked, in a lined wooden case, the cover stamped in Russian 'Court Manufacturer P.A. Ovchinnikov in Moscow and in St. Petersburg' with Imperial warrant
