Shown half-length in sombre colours, the Mother of God holds the Christ Child to her right shoulder pointing to Him with her left hand, her right hand rests on His back, He embraces his Mother with His left hand behind her neck and the right on her left shoulder, set into later panel

Iconographically this is very close to the Mother of God of Vladimir, but the Child is shown half-length.
