The action-bar with 'Joseph Brazier, Ashes' stamps, Jones patent rotary-underlever, the backlocks with bolted dolphin hammers, best bold foliate-scroll engraving with much hardening-colour, highly-figured stock with pistolgrip, cheek-piece and chequered butt-plate, the triggerplate extending rearwards to form a chequered skeletal pistolgrip, the browned bold damascus barrels with matt sight-rib and open-sights

The makers have kindly confirmed that the rifle was completed in 1863 for the Lord Elphinstone. It appears to have been very little used
