Lot Essay

In Long's biomorphic sculpture there is a focus on what he terms the 'abstract free-standing mass'. Amorphous work in rubber, plastic, pigmented paper and modelling clay suggest out-of-body experiences alternative characters from a sculptural setting for 'the Invasion of the Body Snatchers'.
