A Chamberlain's Worcester salmon-ground armorial plate
painted with a coat of arms between supporters below a crest and motto, the border reserved with white and iron-red flowerheads between gilt leaf scrolls, puce script marks, circa 1820 (some restored rim chips and slight wear) -- 24cm. diam.

Lot Essay

The arms are those of Taylor quartering Watson with the arms of Taylor shown in pretence.

George Watson-Taylor, owner of Earl Stoke Park, Wilts., his fortune was made from property in the West-Indies but following the fall in value of his property and his furniture and works of art were sold in 1832.
