Lot Essay

It it generally accepted that the "K&C" hallmark represents the short lived partnership between the rivals Oscar Crockett and Pascal Kelly. The partnership was formed in the early 1920's, and although both men's initials were included on the hallmark, the styles have always depicted that of traditional Kelly patterns. This is the only known pair of "K&C" marked spurs with what is undeniably Crockett's unique bull head on the heel band, thus they are the supporting evidence that the "K&C" mark was truly Kelly and Crockett.
