A SADDLE

A circa 1936 black leather saddle, hallmarked "N. PORTER PHOENIX" with the longhorn motif. The leather is completely tooled in a foliage design and the seat is padded and stitched. Silver lacing adorns the cantle, horn, and gullet. Embellished with sterling silver conchas and corner plates which are elaborately engraved with a foliage motif. The back of the cantle is dated 1936 on the silver plate, with the hallmark "N. PORTER CO. ARIZONA".
