A photograph of Captain Myles W Keogh's horse, Comanche, from the 7th Calvary. Keogh's horse was found on the battlefield after the massare. Comanche was one of the few survivors of the battle. After the battle, the government built special living quarters for the horse and ruled that Comanche would never be riden or worked again.
