Lieutenant-Govenor Sir Henry Morgan orders action against the pirates and to capture Jacob Everson (a most notorious Pyrat) anchored in Cow-Bay...many of the Pyrats leap'd into their Cannoes, which overset, and they were Drowned, and after some resistance, our Men remained Masters of the Pyrat Sloop (front page, col 1)

Sir Henry Morgan (1635-1688) was a Welsh buccaneer, born in Glamorganshire of good family. He was kipnapped in Bristol and shipped to Barbados. Joining the buccaneers, he conducted triumphant expeditions against Spanish possessions and died as Lieutenant-Govenor of Jamaica
