An early 19th-Century bridge-frame vernier sextant signed Stebbing, Portsmouth
constructed in brass with a lattice frame, the inlaid silvered scale divided 5°- 0°- 135°, vernier with clamp, fine tangent screw adjustment and swivel magnifier, adjustable telescope fitting, two telescopes, seven shades, two mirrors and pin feet, in fitted box with brass handle and securing hooks, the radius -- 8in. (20.3cm.); the box -- 11 x 10in. (28 x 25.5cm.) together with a 1906 softbound copy of the Mariners' Handbook
