Lot Essay

Ward Jackson, 528 tons, and Gipsey Queen, 669 tons, were built at Dumbarton and Stockton in 1854 and 1856 respectively. Both iron screw steamers, they traded out of Hartlepool to Hamburg and other Baltic ports.
