HORATIO HERBERT KITCHENER, 1ST EARL KITCHENER OF KHARTOUM (1850-1916)
One-page typed letter in French signed ("Kitchener") to Mr Milleraud, 4°, on Secretary of State for War, War Office Whitehall S.W. headed paper, 7 June [n.y. but ?1915]. Kitchener thanks him for his letter of 30 May assuring him that the Chief General has the highest authority and that Sir Ian Hamilton has much initiative and is at liberty to handle the operations for which he is responsible for in whatever manner he wishes. Mounted with a chromolithographed portrait of Kitchener in common frame.
