A pair of bottle vases
of globular form with slender garlic necks and short feet, painted and gilt with scenes of men, women and children at various pursuits including eating and drinking, flower arranging and practicing calligraphy, all below swirling bands of dense kiku and prunus flowerheads, the necks and feet with geometric bands -- 5¾in. (14.5cm.) high, signed Yabu Meizan, (one broken and restuck).
