A rectangular koro and pierced flattened cover
with foliate finial, angular handles and four bracket feet, painted and gilt with shaped panels of ladies and children at leisure on terraces and scholars and attendants in a bamboo grove, all on a dark blue ground reserved with flowers and scrolling foliage -- 4½in. (11.5cm.) high, signed Kinkozan kore-o-tsukuru, (chip to inside rim, some rubbing).
