A French gilt-brass and porcelain-mounted striking and repeating carriage clock

The gorge case engraved with foliate designs, the side panels painted with scenes of courting couples in 18th century costume walking through gardens, within turquoise-jewelled gilt borders against a royal blue ground, the top panel painted with a dove resting on a basket of spilled roses, within conforming border, with later rear panel, decorated with gilt foliate and geometric designs on a royal blue ground and with jewelled ornament, with conforming borders and jewelled decoration to the dial, the white chapter ring with Roman numerals interspersed with beaded jewels, the centre with a ring of turquoise beads, gilt moon hands, with reserve below painted with a recumbent amorino, the twin barrel movement with replaced platform lever escapement, strike/repeat on bell to the backplate numbered 1867; with leather travel case
