A French gilt-brass and porcelain-mounted striking and repeating carriage clock

The pillars case with part-fluted and foliate-clasped columns, mounted with side panels colourfully decorated in the Orientalist manner with vignettes of birds amidst branches, cranes flying and budding branches against a yellow-cream ground painted with gilt motifs, the conforming dial with plain white Roman chapter ring, blued spade hands, the twin barrel movement with silvered platform to bimetallic balance with lever escapement, with strike/repeat on gong
