The case with brass-capped swan-neck pediment to the hood, outset columns, with three-quarter pilasters flanking the cross-banded trunk door with wavy arch top, panel to the plinth with chamfered angles, on bracket feet, the cut away brass dial with later cherub mask and foliate spandrels to the silvered chapter ring, matted centre with silvered seconds ring and date aperture, with silvered disc to the arch signed Will.m Barker WIGAN (probably associated), the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement and strike on bell; dial and movement associated to case, last quarter 18th century
