Two North Indian Khyber Knives
Both 19th Century
The first with broad tapering blade decorated with chiselled and gilt scrolling foliage on both sides at the forte and along the reinforced back-edge, gold-damascened beaked iron hilt with diagonally fluted collar, and bone grip-scales; the second with single-edged blade, and beaked iron hilt with rounded ivory grip-scales (damaged), in original wooden scabbard covered in red leather and with pierced and chased brass locket
