Two Indian Tulwars
Both late 19th Century
The first with curved finely watered blade double-edged towards the point and with gold-damascened Persian inscriptions along the back-edge on one side and within a cartouche on both sides, the forte damascened with gold foliage on both sides, and involving a further Persian inscription on one side, and iron hilt of characteristic form damascened overall with gold foliage, in original leather-covered wooden scabbard; the second with slightly curved blade chiselled along one side with tigers attacking elephants and antelope, all damascened in gold, forte chiselled with gold-damascened foliage, and iron hilt damascened overall with gold foliage, in original leather-covered wooden scabbard
