A Pair Of 38-Bore German Flintlock Holster Pistols

With swamped two-stage etched imitation twist rifled barrels in the Turkish fashion each with six stars and a crescent moon inlaid in silver at the breech, brass-lined touch-hole, silver spider fore-sight, and engraved brass back-sight (one replaced), chiselled tangs, shaped bevelled locks retaining some internal and external blued finish, figured walnut full stocks (each with repaired fore-end) carved in relief with rococo decoration and numbered '103' and '104' respectively on the right side of the butt, full cast and chased bronze mounts with further rococo decoration and retaining traces of original silvered finish, side-plates each with differing animals of the chase within a wooded landscape, butt-caps each with a scene of the chase involving hounds and a mounted horseman in contemporary sporting attire, shaped trigger-guards each engraved 'No. 23', differing escutcheons decorated with stags and hinds, and each surmounted by a bust of Diana, cast and chased ramrod-pipes, horn fore-end caps, and later horn-tipped ramrods
