Lugged Spear
Late 15th Century, probably German
With shaped head narrow at the base and with a strong medial ridge on each face, tapering slightly towards the point before widening into a leaf-shaped feature drawn out at the tip into a long slender stiff point (possibly an early addition), at the base two sharply triangular side lugs each pierced with three holes, one struck with a cross mark, between them a lateral bolt with claw-like ends (possibly later), short socket of octagonal section, and leather-bound wooden staff
