A stage waistcoat of black and silver leather, the cap-sleeve top lined in black and pink art silk, fastening at the neck with a metal shell-shaped buckle on a choker-style strap, the front cut into a low curve and fastening with a zip, the top decorated on both sides with metal studs, labelled inside with a silver leather 'M' -- made for Marc Bolan circa 1976; accompanied by a corresponding still of Bolan on stage in 1976 (printed later) (2)

Sale room notice
We have recently learnt that this waistcoat was worn by Bolan in 1974 rather than 1976 as stated in the catalogue. It was worn by him during his 'Zinc Alloy Tour', 1974. The photo illustrated in the catalogue also dates from 1974.
