unsigned, the lacquered-brass apparatus with engraved scales, burnished-steel needle, the vertical support arranged to slope via a compass joint with scale divided into quadrants, the lower mounting incorporating a turned handle to facilitate the needle mechanism to rotate round the horizontal plate divided in four quadrants, the fruitwood stand with three adjustable screw feet and laboratory inventory inscription Pfg VII 6 -- 8in. (20.4cm.) high
