An early 19th-Century noon cannon dial,
with brass cannon, compass, flagstaff with compass points painted on the base, suspension accessory, mounted on a rectangular marble base decorated with four gilt-brass rosettes, four signs of the zodiac (Cancer, Aries, Libra and Capricorn), a sundial (gnomon missing), and a cartouche of a cherub holding aloft an illustration of a lighthouse with star surmounted by a coronet, the base with pressed gilt-brass frieze, four lion's paw feet and walnut plinth (old worm damage) -- 18.3/8in. (46.7cm.) wide
