Lot Essay

Best known for his hunting and racing scenes, Blinks first exhibited at the Dudley Gallery in 1881, at the Royal Society of British Artist in 1882, and regularly at the Royal Academy from 1883 to 1910. His work are fine and accurate depictions of sporting activities in the Victorian era.

Humphrey Richardson Taylor, Sr. was a member of the Surrey Hunt as well as Master of the Cheriton Otter Hounds. He ran the family distillery, Taylor, Son and Gosnells, founded by Humphrey Taylor in 1770.
