classical period, circa mid 4th century b.c.
Circular in form, the lid with a female head in high relief in profile to the left, her wavy hair bound in a fillet, with loose strands falling on to each side of the neck, wearing a beaded necklace and an earring in the form of a winged Eros, the underside and the interior of the base with concentric circles
