Original pictorial buff-colored cloth, blocked in black, spine lettered in black, ORIGINAL PRINTED DUST JACKET (final gathering sprung, otherwise very fine, dust jacket with light wear to extremities); quarter morocco slipcase.

FIRST EDITION, IN THE VERY RARE ORIGINAL DUST JACKET. Contains the first issue of Dodgson's "An Easter Greeting..." (found in some early copies). The Hunting of the Snark is considered "Charles's most magnificent literary creation after the Alice books" (Cohen, p. 43). Williams-Madan-Green-Crutch 115 ("a few copies of the book have been recorded in a grey printed dust-wrapper") and 116 ("Easter Greeting").
