2o (337 x 255 mm). (Horizontal tear on pp. 3/4 repaired, some finger-soiling and light browning throughout). Original wrappers, front chromo-lithographed wrappers (some repairs to along spine and at edges). Provenance: Julia M. Eddy (signature on front wrapper).
FIRST EDITION. Front wrapper illustrated with 5 vignettes depicting Wonderland characters, by Alfred Concanen with designs after Tenniel (Tenniel's monogram on front wrapper, and his permission inside). The music was dedicated to Alice, at Dodgson's suggestion in November 1871, after the publishers had requested permission to dedicate it to either Dodgson himself or one of his family. A.
