The bureau plat with a rectangular top inset with a gilt-tooled tan- coloured leather writing surface, above a central frieze drawer flanked to each side by three small drawers, the reverse with apparent drawers, the sides each with a leather-lined tirette, on eight square tapering legs; the chair with curved padded back and shaped arm supports, on square tapering front legs, headed by a flower-cast mount
