A German ormolu and porcelain-mounted ebonised cabinet
Circa 1860
Mounted overall with porcelain plaques, the three-quarter gallery top surmounted by urns and figures, above a cornice decorated with plaques depicting Watteauesque scenes, above a pair of doors each decorated with a central medallion with a scne galante, surrounded by four plaques decorated with cherubs, flanked by a pair of ringed balusters, the interior centred by a small drawer above a mirrored recess with caryatids, flanked to each side by a pair of caryatids and four drawers, all decorated with scnes galantes, the lower section with a pair of frieze drawers, above another similar pair of doors, flanked by caryatid figures, the interior fitted with shelves, on a plinth base, the sides each decorated with two oval medallions centred by a pair of rectangular plaques
