Jane & Jane was Jean Muir's first label, formed in 1962, which became part of the Susan Small organisation. When this was bought by Courtauld's in 1966, she decided to form her own name company.

A coat of shocking pink suede, the sleeves cut in one with the shoulder panels, with patch pockets and belt tie, labelled Jean Muir London, size 10; and another of black velveteen with ruched shawl collar, fastening at the waist with silver coloured metal clips inset with diament studs, labelled Jane & Jane, size 14 (2)
