An ivory okimono of a warrior deity
with mother-of-pearl inset eyes, seated on a rockwork column on a hexagonal pedestal base, holding a sword and being cleaned and tended to by a multitude of smaller figures on ladders and scaffolding on an oval base with short bracket feet -- 8in. (20.3cm) high, 19th Century, signed on an inset red lacquer tablet, (minor chips and cracks).
