Stamped by Herter Brothers (1863-1912), New York City, circa 1860
The rectangular top with anthemion-carved edge above a conforming frame fitted with two short drawers with applied panels over squared columnar supports headed by ionic capitals and embellished with scrolling rinceaux carving joined by a flat stretcher, all with deeply gadrooned edges, on compressed-bun turned feet with carved lobes, the underside of the stretcher stamped "HERTER BROS"
