Painted in vivid enamel colors with a central medallion showing Hope seated leaning against the shield of Ker with Martin in pretence, around the well four gilt anchors entwined with rope and on the rim an elaborate border of classical urns alternating with panels allegorical of the four quarters of the globe: Europe, Asia, Africa and America
